Winchester

Join us on a walk of contrasts; history and nature.  We begin by walking up historic St John’s Street before cutting through to St Giles Hill, site of the famous medieval St Giles Fair, from where we can see right across the city before we continue on to the Magdalen Hill Butterfly Reserve which is a glorious area containing many wild flowers, birds and butterflies.  We wander through here and into Magdalen Hill Down before crossing back into the Reserve passing some Neolithic barrows on our way out, returning to the car park via Highcliffe and the bottom of St Giles Hill.
