Stow-on-the -Wold to Bourton-on-the- Water. (WALK FULL).

Villages/Hamlets/Towns of the Cotswolds.

This walk is in two sections. 

The morning section is 8mls & 650ft of ascent. The walk passes through the centre of Stow and heads south via the villages/hamlets of Maugersbury and Icomb, then west through Wych Rissington. It enters Bourton around flooded gravel pits turned nature reserve and along a section of the river Windrush. 

Return to Stow can be by the 801 bus, hourly at 15 mins past each hour.

The afternoon return walk heads NE through the village of Lower Slaughter before joining the Heart of England/Macmillan Ways. It is over open countryside/fields before a climb brings the walk back to Stow. 4.5mls and 350ft of ascent.

The AM section is graded as a moderate walk but if the PM section is included then the combined walk may be strenuous.
