Starting at the Silchester Pavilion CP the walk heads NE towards Mortimer where we will stop for a break. Return, which is a little further, will be via Tan House bridge and Calleva Roman town. We will probably pass Silchester church and take the route across the centre rather than around the walls to limit the distance to @6mls.
