Location: Shawford Railway Station car park - free on a Sunday last time I checked. Alternatively park, with consideration to the locals, round Shawford village.

A pleasant walk heading out of Shawford through Compton. The only significant hill is at the start up Shawford Down. We then pass through Compton heading initially for Hursley and then north to skirt
round Compton Down. Picking up the Clarendon Way we head over to St Cross Hospital. We then walk by the river looping round to pass St Catherine's Hill following the Itchen Way tow path back to Shawford. Drinks (optional) at The Bridge Inn after.
