Meonstoke

A scenic walk with extensive views of the South Downs countryside.

From Meonstoke village hall footpaths, a quiet lane and a bridleway take us to the foot of Old Winchester Hill, where the South Downs Way is met for a short while. There is time for an optional loop (hill involved) taking in the top of Old Winchester Hill, decision on the day.  Leaving the S.D.W. we pass Stocks Cottage, then a short climb on Westend Down to a lane. From here we cut across a field to another lane with lovely views. All downhill now, or level, using a footpath and the Meon Valley Line back to the start.
