The Itchen Way is a 51.2 km long-distance footpath following the River Itchen from its source near Hinton Ampner House to its mouth at Woolston. The Way finishes at Sholing railway station. The Eastleigh Ramblers Itchen Project comprises a series of circular walks which encompass the complete Itchen Way. Leg 4 leaves Winchester on the Itchen Way to reach the outskirts of South Down and returns via White Lane and Pilgrim’s Trail.
