Location: Harting Downs NT carpark. On B2141 south of South Harting. £3 carparking charge via PayByPhone app or phone. (details www.paybyphone.co.uk/NationalTrust). NT members free but bring your membership card. NOTE: The B2141 through South Harting village is closed. I believe it is possible to get through via Tipper Lane (east of the village) but perhaps best to approach the carpark from the south.

West along South Downs Way, through West Harting Down, Compton, Harting Downs. A few hills but nothing violent. Probably some mud. Plenty of trees and fine views if the weather is kind.
