FORT WIDLEY WITH BLUEBELLS

This is a pleasant semi-urban walk near Portsmouth. After taking in tbe splendid view  of Portsmouth and Langstone Harbours from the car park we head westwards passing Fort Widley, one of the 5 forts built on the high ridge of Ports Down in the 19th  century. We then head inland passing Breenfield House on our outward route. Our return route eventually joins the Wayfarer’s Walk and climbs back to the car park. Bluebells are 100%  guaranteed as there were copious amounts in the woodland and verges on the recent pre-walk.
