East Meon

We will head south from the village across fields (probably wet underfoot). Then we will slowly ascend Small Down - a grassy hill, approx 80 m climb, steep at first then more gentle - to reach the ridge summit with extensive views all round. 

After a break we will join the South Downs Way and turn back north. There will be a muddy section and a chalky section which is uneven and will be slippery after heavy rain (likely!).  

We will then return to the village. Total distance just under 5 miles.
