Cheriton

Join us for a walk incorporating wide tracks, footpaths and open fields.  We’ll begin by going out through the village to Cheriton Wood and returning via Cheriton Mill and the inevitable four stiles.  We will get a view of the 1644 Battle of Cheriton site, where the Parliamentarian victory halted the Royalist advance out of the South West during the Civil War.  We will take an early coffee break at the edge of the woods where hand to hand fighting took place.  Please expect some mud and puddles!
