Bishops Waltham

Leaving the car park to cross north pond, we head north west along tracks and across fields towards Stakes Farm. After a short stretch of lane walking, we pick up the Allan King Way to Upham where, along Widlers Lane, we briefly meet the Monarch’s Way before turning off into the Rookery where the wild garlic is just showing, and the short but steep ascent of White Hill. After a picnic lunch by Upham pond we take the undulating path back towards Street End and head back into Bishop’s Waltham via Vernon Hill and Northbrook. Plenty of stiles, some inevitable mud and good views, weather permitting.
