70th Anniversary celebrations

The timetable for the day is as follows:

      morning walk starting at 10:00 from the recreation ground - approx 5 miles.

      arrive back at the pub about 12:00 - 12:15 ish

      mill around, change shoes, use facilities etc, any non-walkers arrive

      lunch about 12:30.  Options below - please read on

      about 13:45 - 14:00  a few, very short speeches and CAKE 

      afternoon walk setting off about 14:30, starting from the pub car park.  Approx 5 miles.

The walk leaders have consulted and there will be different walk routes offered, morning and afternoon.  Both walks will be at an inclusive pace.  The start points will be on the Ramblers website and App, as is usual for our Programme walks.

Throughout the lunchtime, there will be a slideshow of photos from our archives projected onto the screen in the barn.

 Lunch options:

• 1. There are still some spaces available to book for a plated meal - cooked or sandwiches - in the barn.  We have sole use of the barn and can accommodate up to 42 diners.  Pre-ordering is essential for those wishing to eat in the barn.

  2. You may choose to order food [and drinks] at the bar on arrival, eat elsewhere in the pub or in the garden and join us in the barn for cake and speeches.  

  3. You may wish to eat your snacks or sandwiches elsewhere and join us in the barn for cake and speeches.

If you elect for option 1 please let Kim know asap:

• what would you like to eat [please choose from the attached menu - desserts, coffee etc will be available to order on the day] 
• prebooking is essential if you wish to eat in the barn - we anticipate being fully booked.   There is no booking form and prepayment is NOT required.  Payment will be down to individuals to settle their bill at the bar on the day. 

We do not have time to take bookings by post so the following options are available to you:

• reply to Kim by email at this Southampton Ramblers address and/or to kimdecgolder@gmail.com.  A simple written note of your requirements will suffice.    Please include a telephone number in case of any queries.
• Should you wish to print out the menu, write onto it your choice[s] and name[s], you could scan and send that back as an attachment to an email - -
• or send it as an attachment in a text to Kim on 07717 852 997 -  - 
• or just text Kim on that number with your name and choices.
• Please don't attempt to telephone through a request as the likelihood is I won't be able to take your call or may mislay any message I do take.  Essential I have some form of written request to refer to - thanks!    

Once I've collated responses, I intend to send out a list to those who are booking so that there is an opportunity for you to tell me if I've made any errors.
